CHQ Electoral Role

Welcome to our website!

As part of the South Cotswolds Team Ministry we serve three villages in South Gloucestershire:  Coln St Aldwyns, Hatherop and Quenington.

We meet for worship in at least one of the villages every Sunday, with a variety of traditional and contemporary services.  Children and young people are always welcome, and several times a year we offer worship that is especially suitable for them.

You'll be welcomed at any of our churches whether you're a regular churchgoer, an occasional visitor or you've never been to a church service and want to find out a bit more.

Details of all our services and activities are here on our website as well as lots of other things too. Please take the time to browse around and if you can't find what you're looking for then please do contact us.

We'll be happy to help!

Update on recruitment for our new Vicar

The process for recruiting our new Vicar is gathering pace.  We have now agreed a Parish Profile with the Archdeacon of Cheltenham, the Venerable Katrina Scott, who is leading the recruitment on behalf of the Diocese.  That will form the basis of the information given to potential applicants for the post.  The advertisement for the post has been prepared and will be placed in the Church Times for four weeks commencing 1st May, with a closing date of 28th May.  A short-list will be drawn up on 1st June, and interviews are scheduled for 19th June chaired by the Bishop of Tewkesbury.  If an appointment is made, we can hope to have the new Vicar in post by September/October.

You may be aware from reading CHEQS magazine that the new post will be advertised as a full-time stipendiary post, living in the Coln Vicarage.  The incumbent will have a wider role than our previous Vicars and will function part-time as Team Rector for the South Cotswolds Team, which encompasses the parishes in Lechlade, Fairford, the Ampneys, the Meyseys, Kempsford and Castle Eaton.  We hope that this expansion of the role to a full-time post will attract a wider field of applicants and improve our chances of making a successful appointment!
